Five areas of expertise, one system
A counter-drone turret system cannot be produced from a single area of expertise. Ammunition chemistry, weapon mechanics, robotics, electro-optics and artificial intelligence are very different disciplines. The real value of this partnership is not its technical breadth but the fact that each partner already exports in its own field.

Turaç
Produces the Sterling-branded 12-gauge magnum anti-drone ammunition in its own facilities with its own expertise, and leads the project and the export channel. Working on anti-drone ammunition since 2018.
Firing unit
Derya Arms
Supplies the two 12-gauge semi-automatic Derya MAX shotguns carried on the turret. Gas-operated action and 76 mm magnum chamber; barrel length and effective range updates for the project are in progress.
Turret and sensor
Lasersan
Develops the robotic turret and the imaging systems, and is one of the main technology partners in system integration. It brought its field experience in electro-optical systems and pan-tilt camera systems for reconnaissance and surveillance into this work.
Mechanical integration
Urban Savunma
Carries out the mechanical integration of the turret onto vehicles and the mechanical design. Alongside producing barrels and weapon systems in every calibre, it works in the integration of weapon systems onto remotely operated and unmanned platforms; its manufacturing history in Ankara goes back to the 1970s.
Artificial intelligence
İTÜ Havacılık ve Uzay Teknolojileri Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi (İTÜ ARC)
The tracking and engagement algorithms developed for drone-versus-drone combat. The reaction and reflex capabilities of robot technologies entering the combat environment were transferred here to the mechanisms that drive the weapon.

The first ammunition producer to receive the EYDEP certificate of the Presidency of Defence Industries.
That infrastructure gives the new product ready market access. Target markets are the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Gulf; existing ammunition customers in those regions will be able to procure the system through their own supply chains. Because 12-gauge is one of the most widely used ammunition types in the world, training and supply friction stay minimal.
Four Turkish companies with proven records in ammunition, small arms, robotics and electro-optics developed this system together, with the support of a technical university. We are answering a rapidly growing global need with a cost-effective, field-tested response from Türkiye. Our aim is to export Dron Kalkanı across the world the way we export Turkish ammunition.
